The State Health Services Administration (ASSE) dismissed this Monday a doctor in Villa Constitución (Salto) for being drunk while performing guard duties.
The incident was reported by relatives of a patient who, although he is not an ASSE user, received his first care in a public polyclinic.
After the police report, the doctor performed a spirometry test that was positive with 1.26 grams of alcohol in blood per liter
The Northern Region of ASSE, together with the general management and the presidency, resolved to initiate an administrative investigation and terminate “immediately for misconduct.”
As reported by ASSE in a statement, there was a massive party in charge of the Municipality of Salto and the Mayor of Villa Constitución which was attended by about 2,500 people.
He made sure that there was no medical coverage for the event. “This coverage is not within ASSE’s benefits, notwithstanding this, it provided its services in the emergency,” he commented.
