The appointment comes after a series of difficulties in running the hospital, which has gone through several directors in recent months

The State Health Services Administration (ASSE) appointed Leonardo Hekimian as the new director of the Vilardebó Hospitalafter the resignation of the doctor Paula Sarkissian.
This was reported by the state provider in a statement, in which it added that the deputy director of the hospital, Julia Blandin, will return to her budgeted position in the Ministry of Public Health, after exercising ownership of the hospital after Sarkissian’s departure.
The latter had only been in charge of the Vilardebó Hospital for a few months, since she had been appointed on March 2, 2023 and resigned on May 19. Sarkissian’s appointment, in turn, had occurred after the removal of Federico Sacchi, who until March was the director.
The arrival of Sarkissián in place of Sacchi was motivated by several management problems verified by ASSE, as reported The Observer in March 2023.
Among them that Psychiatry shifts were not covered on weekends; that visits had been restricted; and that there were problems in the pharmacy service with a lack of medicines and instructions for patients once they are discharged.
