This Wednesday 27, at the ASSE headquarters, a donation of sanitary technical equipment was made by the People’s Republic of China. The delivery took place under the Anti-epidemic Aid Project for Oriental Republic of Uruguay agreement, between the Asian country and the AUCI. “In the last year, the China-Uruguay strategic partnership has made continuous progress,” said Ambassador Wang Gang.
At the headquarters of the Administration of State Health Services (ASSE), this Wednesday 27, the act of delivery of medical equipment destined for ASSE and Sinae, through the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI), was carried out in the framework of the COVID-19 Health Crisis Support Fund provided by the People’s Republic of China.
At the ceremony were the pro-secretary of the Presidency and head of AUCI, Rodrigo Ferrés; the president of ASSE, Leonardo Cipriani; the vice president of that institution, Marcelo Sosa; the Undersecretary of Foreign Relations, Carolina Ache; the Chinese ambassador to Uruguay, Wang Gang; the general director of Health, Miguel Asqueta, and the deputy director of Operations and Logistics of Sinae, Esteban González.
Later, Leonardo Cipriani assured that health was one of the priorities of the governments of both countries to face the pandemic. He added that the cooperation received is important not only in terms of equipment, but also in terms of scientific exchange.
He explained that the supplies total a value close to 746,000 dollars and include 30 pulmonary ventilation equipment, 50 digital electrocardiographs, 40 monitors, 15 color Doppler equipment, 100,000 face protection masks, 5,000 protective equipment, 400,000 nitrile gloves and 15 telescopic sanitary tents for joint use with Sinae in situations that require it.
Cipriani added that the equipment received by ASSE enables better care and increases equity.
On the other hand, Wang Gang highlighted that, in the last year, the China-Uruguay strategic association has made continuous progress.
He also stated that this contribution will improve the quality of care in the ASSE and Sinae units and will strengthen the work of these units throughout the territory.
In another order, Rodrigo Ferrés recognized ASSE as the main provider of health services, with a vocation for continuous improvement and high quality.
He also made reference to international cooperation and affirmed that strengthening ties between institutions for mutual aid is a form of support for the country.
