The Promotion 149 “María de la Concepción Bona y Hernández”, made up of 1,400 applicants men, began his training process this Thursday to join the National Police, with a six-month training program in the Police Training School Gaspar Hernández Campus.
The opening ceremony was led by the Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Rafulnext to General Esteban Figuereo GarcíaCentral Director of Human Resources, representing the General Director of the National Police, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta.
The incorporation of this new promotion is part of the 20 Thousand Plana government initiative that seeks to strengthen the police institution through the training of new agents, with emphasis on professionalization and strengthening citizen security.
During the ceremony, Raful highlighted the importance of training process that the applicants begin, aimed at preparing police officers with service vocation and ability to respond to the current demands of society.
Police transformation
He stressed that training is part of the policy of police transformation driven by the President Luis Abinaderbased on integrity, discipline and respect for citizen rights.
“The path they begin requires effort and commitmentbut it has the state support and of senior police officer“said the official.
On his side, the General Figuereo García highlighted that the training stage will be key to strengthening fundamental values such as respect for the Constitutionthe Organic Law of the National Police No. 590-16 and the Code of Ethicspillars, he said, for the training of upright and responsible agents.
The Executive Commissioner for Police Reform, Luis Ernesto García Hernandezpointed out that the applicants have been selected to receive training aimed at turning them into exemplary public servants, while the educator Mu-Kien Adriana Sang Benpresident of the Board of Directors of the Educational Modernization Unit, highlighted the strengthening of the academic curriculum as part of the training process.
The Colonel Aida Valdez, interim rector of the Police Institute of Higher Education (IPES), urged family members to accompany the applicants during their preparation, considering that police training also involves support from the family environment.
Over the next six months, the Promotion 149 will receive intensive training under the guidelines of new model of police service. This is the third male promotion of 1,400 applicantsas part of the institutional objective of achieving the 20,000 new members to expand the coverage and operational capacity of the National Police throughout the country.
Representing the family members, fathers and mothers thanked the opportunity given to their children, while the applicant Juan Adonis Oliveroson behalf of the promotion, expressed his commitment to assuming training with discipline and service vocationin line with the reform process promoted by the institution.
