Asofunds defends millionaire investment in infrastructure: "It has excellent profitability"

the president of asofunds, Santiago Montenegro, referred to the controversy generated by the investment of 4.5 billion pesos in infrastructure projects

When the news was made public, some people questioned that the pensions of Colombians were paid with the tolls of the roads of the country, while others claimed that no pension fund in the world invested in public works.

However, Montenegro indicated, in an interview with RCN newsthat “the world’s large pension and investment funds invest in infrastructure (…) because it has excellent returns that increase people’s savings over time.”

In addition, he confessed that it is not the first time investments have been made in the country’s roads and he mentioned the Ruta del Cacao, the Transversal del Sisga and Pacífico Dos, among others.

The executive described the investment in infrastructure as one of the highest in profitability. In addition, he indicated that 70% of allowances are from these investments.

“We did it in the past, we are doing it, and we will continue doing it in the future”Montenegrin concluded.

It should be remembered that, when adding all the equity investment, which is in all sectors, we are talking about more than 64 trillion pesos, and the bet is to exceed the 164 billion in the next decade.
