The board of directors of the Dominican Association of Foreign Investment Companies (Asiex), made an institutional visit to the President of the Republic Luis Abinader.
The purpose was to address the main topics for the promotion of foreign investment in the country, which included prospects for future investment in the main economic sectors that affect the national economy, and how foreign investment companies can continue to join efforts to economic growth, especially in the face of the complex international environment due to the geopolitical crisis in Europe.
As reported through a document sent to the press, the visit was led by the president of Asiex, Ana Figueiredo, who described the meeting with the president as “highly positive”, because it provided the opportunity to address recommendations from investment companies. abroad and identify new spaces for collaboration.
The head of state was accompanied by the executive director of the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), Biviana Riveiro.
During the meeting, the Asiex directors exchanged views with Abinader on initiatives aimed at contributing to the desired objectives in terms of attracting investment and reinvestment. This, to continue raising the name and country brand of the Dominican Republic.
Among the initiatives are a project to modify Law 16-95, which regulates foreign investment in the Dominican Republic; the institutional strengthening of local governments and the modernization of the single window for investments, with the aim of streamlining processes; the advances of the Zero Bureaucracy initiative; among other aspects of high interest.
