The Financial System Supervision Authority (ASFI) will enable a space on the digital portals of the financial regulatory entity and Banco Fassil so that affected savers can find out to which entity they were transferred. In addition, there will be a review of the subject of credits.

The director of the ASFI, Reynaldo Yujra, reported that an application is being developed on the Banco Fassil website through which customers can check with their identity card to which financial entity they were transferred or if they are included in the trust .

“We are developing a computer application so that it is on our website and also on the website of the intervened entity so that someone can consult with their identity card and can know to which entity they have been transferred or if they are within the trust which will also be managed by a bank,” explained Yujra.

Likewise, Yurja specified that the nine banks that will take over the portfolio of Fassil, Bisa, de Crédito, Económico, Fie, Ganadero, Mercantil Santa Cruz, Nacional de Bolivia, Unión and Solidario, will publish the lists of clients in printed newspapers. that they were awarded.

“The nine entities, once this migration process is completed, will inform through the press which are the clients they have taken over, both savers and borrowers, so that, through the identity card, they can identify”, explained the director of ASFI.

Regarding the process of transferring assets and liabilities, it will be done in accordance with the modality that has been contracted with Banco Fassil. For example, there are sight deposits, others in savings accounts or fixed-term deposits, will be transferred under the same conditions.

Yujra noted that Banco Fassil clients will have to define whether they will withdraw their savings or continue with the new financial institution to which they were assigned through the adjudication process.

In addition, ASFI determined that the return of deposits in dollars be in national currency. That one was one of the conditions of the banks that decided to take over the portfolio of the Fassil entity.

Yujra stated that the database migration will conclude on May 22 and in this way savers will be able to access their money. In this sense, he pointed out that these banks will return the savings in dollars, at the exchange rate of 6.96 in bolivianos.

Regarding credits, the terms of the contracts will be transferred under similar conditions, but specific cases will be analyzed to consider whether or not a modification is warranted. The rest will immediately agree to regularize their payments, Yujra explained.

The official warned that there was an interruption in the normality of the operation and a regulatory adjustment will be made so that there are differentiated treatments, since the important thing is that the characteristics of the credits of each client are not affected.
