Usme, Colombian citizen captured abroad.

More than two decades ago he committed the crime in Colombia and since then his whereabouts have been unknown.

Colombia News.

A Colombian citizen was arrested in the United States, after 28 years of escaping from the national authorities who were looking for him to answer for the crime of his wife and the alleged attempted murder of his daughter.

The events occurred more than two decades ago in the city of Medellin.

In the capital of Antioquia, William Hernando Usma Acosta would have shot his romantic partner and his own daughter, who, seeing that her mother was attacked, tried to defend her.

Another very similar and recent case

A very similar case occurred in 2020, when Brazilian authorities reported the arrest of Colombian Jaime Saade in their territory.

Jaime Saade 28 years ago.

Saade was wanted by Interpol for the crime of Nancy Mestre, a young student from Colegio Marymout who died under mysterious circumstances on January 1, 1994 in the city of Barranquilla.

Mestre died as a result of a shot lodged in his head, presumably carried out by Jaime Saade.

The same alleged perpetrator was the one who took her to a nearby clinic with a serious head injury. The defendant argued that Mestre had attempted against her life.

However, after several analyzes and medical studies it was possible to show that Mestre was abused and murdered.

For this death, Saade was sentenced in Colombia to 27 years in prison as an absentee prisoner, however, as soon as he learned of the sentence he fled to Brazilian territory.

After an arduous investigation, Saade was arrested under another identity. In the country of Rio de Janeiro he was a doctor with a family made up of a wife and three children.

A fingerprint on a glass used by Saade in a restaurant was key to his capture. When comparing them, the international authorities realized that that citizen with Brazilian identity was the same person sentenced in Colombia.

After Saade’s arrest, Nancy’s father, Carlos Mestre, was calm and serene but very satisfied that the alleged perpetrator of his daughter’s crime had been captured.
