Two Colombian baseball players play in the San Diego Padres, sincelejano catcher Jorge Alfaro and Barranquilla pitcher Nabil Crissmatt.
Yesterday in the game in which the Californian team defeated the Atlanta Braves, a historic event for the sport of our country and for the Major Leagues was presented.
For the first time in MLB history, a compatriot pitcher and catcher met at the drums in a Major League game.

For his part, the 27-year-old currambero right-hander fielded several innings in his team’s victory and came out as the winner of the game.

“I didn’t know until the game was over and they told us, how nice to be part of that story,” Alfaro said excitedly in the Los Padres locker room.
In addition, he remembered his days as a child when they played with Nbail in Barranquilla and dreamed of one day reaching the Major Leagues.
For his part, Nabil commented that he is proud to have achieved this feat.
“It was a great pleasure and joy to have achieved this achievement,” said the Colombian pitcher.
