After an anti-narcotics operation, police officers from Artigas They managed to close down a drug sales outlet that operated in the Las Laminas neighborhood of the departmental capital.
The police work included four months of investigation by the Operational Zone II. The investigations allowed the authorities to identify a 37-year-old man nicknamed “Papa Gula”, who ran an illicit drug trade in Las Laminas.
The agents intercepted and interviewed several consumers, seizing drugs from them. This served to obtain a search warrant for the defendant’s home.
After intervening the address, the PADO officers and the GRT three people were arrested at the site and 179.84 grams of marijuana were seized; 15.69 grams of cocaine and 1.51 grams of base paste. They also confiscated six cell phones, a music box, a car radio, two knives, a bicycle, 27,097 pesos and 651 reais.
“Papa Gula”, as Juan Ramón Correa Correa is known, was brought before the Justice to be prosecuted. Finally, the 1st Court of Law sentenced him for a crime of sale and negotiation of narcotics in formal concurrence with a crime of reception. For these crimes he must serve a sentence of three years and three months of effective prison.
On the other hand, the other two detainees regained their freedom.
