Artificial intelligence market in Mexico will reach a value of 32,884 million pesos in 2025

He artificial intelligence market (AI) business in Mexico will close 2025 with a value of 32,884 million pesos, according to a study by IDC prepared by order of Dell Technologies.

The consulting firm positions AI, including generative AI, as one of the growth drivers of technology spending in the country and anticipates accelerated expansion towards 2029, driven by use cases that improve productivity, customer service and decision making.

IDC notes that enterprise IT budgets have remained strong and that companies are seeking to protect critical investments even in challenging environments. Priorities for 2025 include IT and cloud security, ERP modernization, hybrid cloud management and, increasingly, the adoption of AI and generative AI capabilities.

The sector photograph confirms a robust spending base. Manufacturing, commerce and financial services concentrate a good part of the technological expenditure of the country’s main corporations.

From experimentation to acceleration

The study places the Mexican business fabric in a transition that goes from experimentation to adoption and, gradually, to the acceleration of processes enabled by AI.

The thesis is that Mexico “is becoming an AI-enabled place,” with benefits materializing in productivity, knowledge management and innovation as models are embedded in operational flows and applications.

In the photo of end uses, AI is already everyday. 60% of organizations use AI capabilities integrated into their business applications and 43% have deployed assistants to increase staff productivity.

At the level of habits, 88% of users use AI assistants in daily tasks and 66% use a personal assistant in work tasks.

The most widespread cases cover 24/7 customer service, content generation and commercial proposals, personalized marketing campaigns, generative product design, code generation and internal assistants.

Leading industries, drivers and obstacles

The industries with the highest adoption are finance, manufacturing and commerce. The main reasons for adopting this technology are to gain operational efficiency, respond faster to customers and accelerate decisions.

However, incomplete maturity of governance frameworks, a shortage of internal technical skills, and budget constraints for some teams pose an obstacle to the adoption of artificial intelligence.

Even so, advanced models are gaining ground: 32% of companies already develop or train their own AI models, a proportion that rises to 54% among large corporations.

IDC warns that digital transformation is the great enabler of AI. Organizations value data governance and technological interoperability as critical levers, along with investment in specialized talent.

However, only 41% report having a structured and documented AI strategy, which is why the consulting firm recommends multidisciplinary committees, definition of indicators and operational experience to take AI from pilots to sustained impact on business processes.

Regulation

Although Mexico does not yet have a specific AI regulation, IDC proposes aligning strategies with international frameworks, such as the AI Law of the European Unionand strengthen trust through cybersecurity and data protection compliance.

Looking ahead to 2029, the forecast is for sustained growth in AI spending in Mexico until reaching a market value of 110,535 million pesos, which according to IDC will have to be supported by hybrid architectures, data sovereignty and the differentiation of technological partners via strategic consulting.
