A new arson attack against a rural drinking water company in the Victoria commune, La Araucanía region, left a warehouse and machinery burned.
The event was recorded in the El Salto sector, when a group of unknown persons arrived at the scene and burned a light material warehouse and a backhoe. Hours later, the attack was claimed by the Resistance Mapuche Malleco group.
This was reported to Radio Biobio Carabineros commander Eduardo Rosales, who maintained that “a pamphlet was found alluding to a Mapuche community member who died last year on the same date in a proceeding.”
“At this moment Carabineros de Chile is redoubling all its human and logistical efforts aimed at providing the greatest security on routes and secondary roads in the province of Malleco,” he concluded.
