He Arroyo Hondo Clubin coordination with the Club of Swimming Arroyo Hondo Marlinsgave a treat to the swimmerto Elizabeth Jimenez, for their participation in the recently completed Olympic Games, held in Paris, France.
The event took place at the club’s facilities and was headed by its president Gil Morales; Armando Fernández, from Arroyo Hondo Marlins Swimming Club, as well as relatives and associates of Jiménez.
“I am very grateful for this treat that they gave me. I am truly very happy for the Arroyo Hondo Club, for the Marlins Swimming Clubmy entire family, as well as all my teammates,” Jiménez said.
The swimmer finished in eighth place in the women’s 100-meter backstroke at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Jiménez finished in a time of one minute, four seconds and 99 tenths (1:04.99) and finished in last place in the race. “It was a dream come true to have participated in the Olympic Games. It has been the best experience of my life because all the effort and everything I had to do to get there (the Olympic Games) made me enjoy it so much,” said Jiménez.

Morales, for his part, highlighted the qualities of Jiménez, who took up swimming at an early age.
“As president of the Arroyo Hondo Club and being next to a great, not only for her size, but for her achievements that she has presented throughout the years of the discipline with the Marlins team. The emotions that our institution wants to present to you are with reverence that your continuity and what you have left of life and what you lack in swimming and in your studies continue being as you have done today,” Morales pointed out.
Meanwhile, Fernández reviewed Jiménez’s life in swimming, as well as his time as a member of the Marlins Swimming Club of Arroyo Hondo.
“Elizabeth is a great source of pride for all of us for having made it to the Olympic Games. There are swimmers who reach certain levels and forget about those who come after them, and that has not been the case with you,” he said.
