Arrocha: “In the general elections the PRD will have its worst electoral presentation”

Angel Valdes | April 20, 2023

The presidential candidate for free nomination, Melitón Arrocha, in an interview with Radio Panama about the collection of signatures in different parts of the country, I also believe that the ruling party will have its worst electoral performance in the May 2024 elections and that the next government of the Republic of Panama is in opposition.

About how the process of collecting signatures is going, Arrocha said that “3 long months remain and the experience has been gratifying to have the opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful people, very hard-working, we have put together a work team that has shown that they know how to do things are fine, but on the other hand, not a criticism of the Electoral Tribunal but rather of the electoral legislation the design, I think on purpose, so that those candidates who opted for free application, would arrive at the beginning of the electoral process almost exhausted ».

Regarding the campaign of the ruling party towards the general elections of 2024, Arrocha commented that “I predict that the Democratic Revolutionary Party will make its worst electoral presentation in the history of that party, I do not see any feasibility, I believe that this election It is going to be defined within the opposition, which I anticipate the opposition is going to be divided into two large groups and the group that has the possibility of bringing together a greater organization, better candidates and a proposal that is in tune with the population will be chosen, but the The next government of the Republic of Panama is in opposition today.”
