Arrested for stealing meat from a supermarket

Police officers arrested a 25-year-old man for stealing meat from the Stock supermarket in San Pablo. The subject has a criminal record.

The operation was carried out last night, in flagrant commission of a punishable act of theft, registered within the Stock supermarket in the San Pablo neighborhood of Asunción.

The agents of the 16th Police Station of said neighborhood went to the place and arrived when Neighbors were beating the alleged thief, who was first chased by a guard and local employees.

The detainee identified as Derlis Rogelio Sánchez (25) has two arrest warrants for unauthorized possession of narcotic substances and theftand has several criminal records, according to the National Police.

The implicated spent the night at the headquarters of Police Station 16where it remains at the disposal of the Public Ministry for investigation.

The cases of robberies in supermarkets, convenience stores and minimarkets have been a constant lately, mainly in stores that operate 24 hours a day like Biggie and Stock Express.

At the time, the preferred target was the City Market chainwhose branches were permanently visited by criminals, until the business went into a tailspin and finally closed permanently.
