Arreaza highlights popular power as a pillar to promote the Revolution

The Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, highlighted this Friday the organization of popular power as a fundamental basis for promoting the revolutionary process, headed by the Commander Hugo Chavez.

In his speech at the World Meeting for the Validity of the Thought of Commander Hugo Chávez in the 21st century, Arreaza stated that he has always sought ways – since he came to power in 1999 – to provide power to the people.

“Commander Chávez searched for channels to hand over power to that people from day one. Commander Chávez governed him, historical circumstances made it possible to seize power from the bourgeoisie, ”the minister stressed when participating in the first day of the World Meeting that takes place at the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas.

In this sense, he said that during the first years of his government, Chávez did not have control of the national oil industry, which was evidenced in 2002 and 2003, when the oil strike was carried out.

After assuming control of the oil industry – explained Arreaza – Commander Chávez began to look for tools to deliver it to the people.

Arreaza: Chávez urged popular organization

For this reason, Chávez always urged popular organization and unity among the different forms of government, in order to give shape to the popular project, which he had been present since 1991.

“Chavez brings together all the organizations and in 2005 he proposed the communal council, a number of families, which constituted a government (…) They do not organize for a determined, weak purpose, they do not organize to defend a banner of struggle, they organize to to be a government”, stressed Arreaza.

“In Venezuela there are four types of governments, including the communal government, which are made up of communal councils and communes”, which are in charge of executing projects for the development of the people.

On the other hand, he affirmed that, in the areas where the Communal Councils have been established, as well as the communes; The sanctions promoted by the United States (USA) were managed to combat with work and effort.

Chávez: solidarity and integration

Claudia de la Cruz, educator and pioneer of the Popular Education Project and the People’s Forum in New York, United States, also participated in the debate this Friday.

“Solidarity is the accumulation of action of love that gives life. That was taught by Hugo Chávez”, he expressed during his speech on the first day of the World Meeting for the Validity of the Bolivarian Thought of Commander Hugo Chávez.

In her reflections, from the Teresa Carreño Theater, the activist highlighted that Chávez focused his management on the basic human and political rights of society, always thinking of the majority, and in connection with the working class, which is the one that suffers the ravages of the capitalism.

De la Cruz cited the motivation of the revolutionary leader for projects in favor of the majority in terms of preservation of life and the environment, creation of spaces for the arts and culture, access to healthy food, and education in communities outside of facilities. bourgeois, among others.

“Chávez devised and the Bolivarian Revolution was the channel, in which solidarity and integration were deprived, the socialist projects that are going to guarantee that this world is what it needs to be: a free, democratic, popular world and with the people from the working masses at the center of politics; that is socialism,” he added.
