The CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) held the Brasileirão 2025 Award ceremony on Monday night (8). And Uruguayan midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta, from Flamengo, was chosen as the star of the competition among men. In the women’s competition, the highlight was attacking midfielder Gabi Zanotti, from Corinthians.
Flamengo’s dominance
Arrascaeta had a special year for Rubro-Negro da Gávea. In the campaign that guaranteed Flamengo the Brazilian championship, the Uruguayan contributed with 18 goals (guaranteeing second best scorer, the competition’s top scorer was Kaio Jorge, who scored 21 goals for Cruzeiro) and with 14 assists.
At the party promoted by the CBF, the men’s Brazilian selection was also announced, which was dominated by athletes from champion Flamengo and 3rd placed Cruzeiro: Rossi (Flamengo); Paulo Henrique (Vasco), Léo Pereira (Flamengo), Fabrício Bruno (Cruzeiro) and Reinaldo (Mirassol); Jorginho (Flamengo), Lucas Romero (Cruzeiro), Arrascaeta (Flamengo) and Matheus Pereira (Cruzeiro); Kaio Jorge (Cruzeiro) and Vitor Roque (Palmeiras).
Two other highlights of the men’s competition were Rafael Guanaes, chosen as the competition’s best coach after helping Mirassol achieve a historic fourth place in the standings. Striker Rayan, who scored 14 goals for Vasco, was chosen as the Brasileirão’s revelation.
Brabas do Timão shine in the women’s division
In the Brazilian Women’s Championship, the ace was Gabi Zanotti. The experienced attacking midfielder was an important player in a season that culminated in Corinthians’ seventh title in Series A1 of the competition.
The Brazilian Women’s team is made up of: Nicole (Corinthians); Isabela (Cruzeiro), Isa Haas (Cruzeiro), Mariza (Corinthians) and Gisseli (Cruzeiro); Brena (Palmeiras), Lorena Bedoya (Cruzeiro), Gabi Zanotti (Corinthians) and Duda Sampaio (Corinthians); Amanda Gutierres (Palmeiras) and Letícia (Cruzeiro). The position of best coach in the competition goes to Jonas Urias, from Cruzeiro, while striker Jhonson, from Corinthians, is the revelation.
