It has transcended in social media a video of a squad commander warning his platoon about posting videos on social media that are offensive to morals and good customs. The commander specifically points out tiktok and Instagram.
“The soldiers are giving themselves the task of recording tiktok and videos in the social media dresses of military and in military compounds. I remind you that there is a memorandum from the high superiority where it prohibits that. If you are dressed in civilian clothes and are going to record a video that violates your personal morals, you can automatically consider that what is specified in the regulation will apply to you. military”, indicates the officer of the Army of the Dominican Republic.
The military warns: “The topic of the videos in the social media. Stop that practice. We have seen soldiers recording videos that are unseemly and undermine the morale of the soldier”.
He further alleged that due to this reason they lose the respect of the citizens. “That’s why you say that in the streets the citizens don’t respect you, and it’s because you lose respect for yourselves.”
What does the regulation say military?
The rules military The disciplinary system of the Armed Forces of the Dominican Republic indicates in article 32, numeral one that it is considered a lack of morality and good customs: “Not keeping in all places and circumstances the correct attitude that corresponds to the investiture of members of the Armed forces”.
And in numeral 15 it indicates that “Make publications without strictly adhering to the rules or limitations imposed by the service regulations or make statements or provide data or information to the press, or individuals, about acts of service or events that occurred between officers, whose details or background may harm the prestige and good name of the armed forces.”
