The Army, National Guard and the Attorney General’s Office reported the arrest, on October 28, of Armando N, alías El Inge, considered to be the leader of a cell of the Sinaloa cartel. That person has already been linked to the process by a judge.
At the place of his detention, 118 kilograms of pasta were seized. fentanyl and a laboratory to produce synthetic drugs. It is considered the most important insurance of pure fentanyl in the history of the country, exceeding 970 million pesos in the market. The insured laboratory could produce 70 kilograms of fentanyl base paste per month, and from each kilogram of fentanyl paste, up to one million tablets could be produced.
The Secretary of National Defense reported that on November 2, 2021, the competent judge issued an order to bind Armando N (a) El Inge, alleged leader of a criminal cell dedicated to the production of synthetic drugs in Culiacán, for the crime of organized crime, Sinaloa, as well as four of his collaborators who were arrested on October 28, 2021 by Army personnel.
Derived from intelligence investigations, the army managed to locate a property used as a synthetic drug laboratory, in which the members of the criminal cell were hiding, as well as another property used as a collection center and three more, where as a whole the following was assured:
- 118 kilograms of pasta with the characteristics of fentanyl.
- Four bags of fentanyl paste precursor chemicals.
- Two kilograms of a chemical compound with characteristics similar to Inositol.
- A long gun.
- Four short weapons.
- 1,050 cartridges of various calibers.
- Two vehicles.
- 86,000 pesos.
- $ 14,660.
- 160 bolivars.
- Own utensils for the production of synthetic drugs.
This seizure of pure fentanyl is considered the largest in history, which would have an estimated price in the national market of 970 million 432,000 pesos, according to Sedena.
“It is presumed that the activity of those now detained consisted of the monthly production of approximately 70 kilograms of base paste for the manufacture of approximately 70 million fentanyl tablets to supply the Pacific Cartel, counting on both national and international logistical presence ”, said the Sedena.
“These activities were carried out with strict adherence to the rule of law and with full respect for human rights, without firing a single shot,” he concluded.
