Army arrests 29 undocumented immigrants hidden in a chicken truck in Valverde

Ejército detiene 29 indocumentados ocultos en camión de pollo en Valverde

Valverde.- Members of the Dominican Army arrested 29 undocumented immigrants who were being transported in a truck camouflaged under chicken crates on the main street of the La Reforma sector, in the municipality of Mao, province of Valverde.

During the raid, the military arrested the driver of the white Daihatsu truck, Gabino Alfredo de la Rosa Berroa, and his assistant, José Rafael Liranzo. Both tried to evade security controls by hiding the foreigners in a structure made of chicken crates to disguise their presence.

The detainees, along with the truck and the undocumented immigrants, were transferred to the Fourth Infantry Brigade, under the supervision of Colonel Guillermo Jiménez Arciniega. They will then be sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to proceed with the corresponding legal actions.
