Armed Forces capture four terrorists in Vraem

The head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces (CCFFAA), General EP David Ojeda, presented this afternoon four remnants of the Shining Path in the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro rivers (Vraem).

“A hard blow has been dealt to Sendero Luminoso, to the remnants of that organization, with the capture of the terrorist criminal ‘Ciperian’, who responds to the name of Octavio Vargas Ñahuicopa, and three other elements of the organization that are in the process of identification,” he told Peru21 during a conference held at the headquarters of the Joint Special Forces of Chorrillos.

It is known that one of the detainees was the partner of the deceased bloodthirsty comrade ‘Alipio’.

‘Ciperian’ is believed to be responsible for two criminal acts in 2020, where three members of the Armed Forces lost their lives and five were injured, in Canayre (Ayacucho). He is also believed to have participated in the murder of three adults and two children in 2021.

Also found in his possession were objects such as two AKM-type rifles, ammunition, hand grenades, homemade weapons, among others, which were seized during the military operation called ‘Leonidas’.
