The official said that three other minors were injured in the attack in San Pedro Tlaquepaque, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara.
According to testimony from neighbors gathered by the prosecutor’s office, the attackers arrived early Friday morning in a vehicle and opened fire on a group of people who were partying outside a house.
Tlaquepaque has been the scene of other attacks against minors.
On February 18, four teenagers died in a shooting.
These violent acts are mainly attributed to the operation of criminal groups such as the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, one of the most powerful in Mexico.
Since December 2006, when the federal government launched a controversial anti-drug military offensive, more than 450,000 people have been murdered and some 100,000 have disappeared in Mexico, according to official figures.
