In response to this tragic event and the alleged failures in the health and safety conditions at work, the Ministry of Labor carried out an exhaustive inspection of the establishment that lasted 20 hours, which led to the authorities taking drastic measures: “Preventive measure of the paralysis of the activities of ‘Andrés Carne de Res’.”

According to the National Government’s portfolio, the measure would be in force until the Occupational Risk Administrator (ARL), in this case Sura, verified and certified compliance with the occupational health and safety conditions detailed in the document.

Following a request from the Ministry of Labor, ARL Sura indicated that it followed the instructions and reviewed the documentation submitted by the restaurant on September 6, while the visit to Andrés Carne de Res was made the following day, September 7.

In an 8-page document revealed by Semana magazine, ARL Sura detailed what it found in each of the points to be reviewed established by the Ministry of Labor, indicating that the restaurant complies with the requirements.

Finally, the Ministry is expected to review the document submitted by the Occupational Risk Administrator and thus determine whether the restaurant can reopen its doors to the public.

How is Laura Villamil’s health?

The dancer Laura Villamil suffered burns on 80% of her body after the accident, which is why she had to undergo several surgical interventions. According to the account of Laura’s brother, Santiago Villamil, in an interview with the program ‘Lo Sé Todo’ a few days ago, he indicated that the victim underwent a new surgery last Friday, September 6, and that she had contracted three bacteria, of which only one had been eradicated.

“There is no healthy skin left on her; they have already used it for grafts, there is no donor skin. What they are going to do is: they are going to shave my sister’s head, all her hair, they are going to shave it to use skin from the scalp, turn it into a graft and put it on the wounds caused by the fire,” Santiago said.
