The mayor of La Paz, Iván Arias, announced on Wednesday direct coordination with the Ministry of Health for the delivery of vaccines against the coronavirus, in case the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters) “puts obstacles” to deliver the drugs to the municipality.
“If there are too many obstacles in the governorates to provide vaccines to the municipalities, the Ministry (of Health) will pass directly to us. I hope that is not the case in La Paz, we have had good coordination, but sometimes we have had obstacles, ”Arias told Red Uno.
The authority highlighted the vaccination achieved at the seat of government and hopes that the coordination that allowed progress in immunization will continue to counteract the fourth wave of Covid-19.

“We want to continue to maintain the success of the vaccination, it has been the good coordination between the national government, departmental, universities and unions. So we have to maintain much more now, that we are entering this fourth wave and with this omicron variant that did not arrive in Bolivia, but that is present any time, ”added the mayor.
Arias held a meeting yesterday with President Luis Arce to establish working groups between both levels of the State.
Among other outstanding issues, the need to access loans from private banks and resources from the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR) was raised.
