In the early hours of this Saturday, the former Minister of the Interior, Daisy Tourné Valdez, died and several leaders of all political parties as well as government authorities spoke out, one of the first to do so was the Vice President of the Republic, Beatriz Argimón.
“It is with great sadness that I bid farewell to our beloved Daisy Tourné. She left a lineage politician, a woman committed to her party and to the Country. I fire a political friend. See you forever! RIP,” she wrote on Twitter.
The current Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, said: “I am very sorry for the loss of Daisy Tourne. She is frontal and combative, very loyal in the way she confronts ideas, never falling for insults and disqualification. A great loss. RIP”.
For his part, the Minister of Labor and leader of the Independent Party, Pablo Mieres, noted: “I am very sorry for the death of Daysi Tourné. A great person, a lifelong militant. Frank, brave and dialogue always. Our greetings to his family, friends and the Broad Front ”.
In addition, from the Colorado party, former senator Pedro Bordaberry also expressed himself: “Daysi Tourné passed away; I was lucky to share the Senate of the Republic with her; frontal, loyal, convinced of her ideas, intelligent and good people of hers; go to her family and friends my condolences RIP ”.
