Argentinian Navy training ship arrives in Cuba

The frigate ARA Libertad, training ship of the Argentina Armyarrived in Havana this Sunday to make an official visit that lasts until next Thursday, as part of his 50th instruction trip that includes 11 ports in America and Europe.

With this visit, the frigate, with 326 crew members on board, touches the port of Havana for the third time since 1976, reported the state agency Latin Press.

The commander of the Argentine training ship, Captain Carlos Schavinsky, said upon his arrival that this will be the opportunity to “exchange experiences, share traditions and culture with the Caribbean nation,” and also contribute to strengthening bilateral relations of “friendship and camaraderie.” ”.

He explained that the stay on the island will complement the preparation of 92 future officers of that armed body from Argentina, and invited midshipmen from other countries, as well as direct contact with their Cuban peers and the population, whom he invited to visit the sailboat from next Tuesday.

The sailors of the frigate (Q-2) ARA Libertad, belonging to the Argentine Sea Fleet, have planned a program of activities that includes courtesy visits to the president of the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power (Government) of Havana and the Granma Naval Academy.
