More of 80 million people who participated in the 17th China International Liquor Industry Expo in Luzhou, Sichuan, were able to learn about the production of some of the most important wineries in Argentina. The event was attended by more than 1,200 business and political representatives and some 1,100 companies from 45 countries around the world.
The event was held between July 15 and 20 and Argentina, declared Honor guestparticipated with a stand of 480 square meters.
The Argentine ambassador to China, Sabino Vaca Narvajaone of the speakers at the opening of the fair, highlighted Argentina’s entry into the Belt and Road Initiative, the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations and the forthcoming opening of an Argentine consulate in Chengdu, in a message in which called for deepening subnational ties, especially with the western region of China.
Later, he participated in a tour of the pavilions and in the opening of the National Pavilion of Argentina, which included a brief tango show and speeches by the deputy mayor of Luzhou, Wang Binda; the director general of the FAO of Sichuan, Cui Zhiwei; and the director of the China Wine Industry Association, Wang Qi, among others.
In addition to participating in the fair, the Argentine Embassy held meetings with local authorities from Luzhou and Sichuan, where the characteristics of the Argentine export supplywith particular emphasis on the viticulture and the role of agricultural technology for the productive development of the sector.
Vaca Narvaja also visited the Port of Luzhou, the main port in Sichuan province, with the aim of exploring possibilities to improve the Logistics trade between the two countries and trade promotion meetings were held with various local companies where the main characteristics of Argentine wine were presented.
