Argentine Foreign Minister says that Uruguay’s attitude can “break” Mercosur

In his speech at the meeting of foreign ministers, Cafiero said “we are concerned about certain unilateral attitudes. It is contrary to the rules of Mercosur, it violates the rule of consensus, the basis of Mercosur. The unilateral nature of certain decisions worries us.”
Cafiero highlighted the possible agreement with the European Union but said that there are negative consequences. “It will be the most important instrument of the bloc, although it presents risks due to competition with European companies with greater resources. The EU shows little flexibility, sometimes the ball is not on our side.
