During a plenary session, Argentine parliamentarians displayed posters in their seats with photographs of the four Venezuelan opposition leaders with the message “kidnapped by the task forces of the Maduro dictatorship.”
The activist and general secretary of the Argentine Forum for the Defense of Democracy (FADD), Elisa Trotta, who promoted the initiative, thanked the Argentine deputies for their support for the cause of democracy and freedom in Venezuela.
«We thank each deputy who today, in the session of the Chamber of Deputies, showed the photo of their Venezuelan colleagues kidnapped by the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro for the sole fact of fighting for democracy and human rights. Williams, Dignora, Freddy and Américo, as well as each one of the more than two thousand kidnapped by the regime, must return to the streets. We will not stop working for this. Freedom for political prisoners and freedom for all of Venezuela», said Trotta Gamus.

Hernández was arrested last March. On the 20th of that month, the prosecutor appointed by the defunct constituent assembly, Tarek William Saab, confirmed the arrests of the Vente Venezuela organization coordinator, Henry Alviárez, and the national political secretary of that party, Dignora Hernández. Both were accused of being involved in an alleged conspiracy to “force the authorization” of María Corina Machado through violent events throughout the country.
On July 30, officials from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Commission (Conas) arrested Freddy Superlano when he tried to enter the Suite Palace building in Sebucán, Miranda state. On August 6, attorney Joel García reported that Superlano is being held at the headquarters of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin), known as El Helicoide.
He said that “his legal situation is uncertain” because he does not have private lawyers he trusts and the crimes or actions attributed to him leading to his arrest are unknown.
Williams Dávila, meanwhile, was arrested on August 8. The NGO Defiende Venezuela denounced the arrest of the former deputy in the afternoon of that day. “The persecution and harassment by the regime continues. Collectives took Williams Dávila Barrios, former governor and former deputy of Mérida. His whereabouts are unknown,” it denounced on its social networks.
The organization said Williams Dávila was in Plaza Los Palos Grandes, where he participated in the day of prayer for the freedom of political prisoners and the more than 1,000 detained in the context of post-election protests.
On the same morning of August 8, the political organization Guayana Libre warned that the leader of that group and former deputy of the National Assembly 2015, Américo de Grazia, had been missing for more than 24 hours.
Through your account on the social network XGuayana Libre indicated that De Grazia’s children were the ones who reported the disappearance of the former parliamentarian and hold President Nicolás Maduro responsible for whatever may happen to him.
Later in the evening, María De Grazia, daughter of the opposition political leader, reported on her social networks that her father is “kidnapped” in El Helicoide; one of the headquarters of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin).
“After more than 24 hours without knowing his whereabouts (…), we found out (that) they have him in El Helicoide (…). We don’t know what charges are brought against him. They don’t have an arrest warrant against my dad, we don’t have proof of life, we don’t know in what conditions they have him,” denounced De Grazia’s daughter through Instagram.
