Argentina The US and Peru would resume the instrument of binational cabinets at the end of 2022, in order to analyze all aspects of the bilateral relationship and see commercial opportunities between both nations.
This was announced by the country’s deputy foreign minister, Pablo Tettamanti, who in statements to the Andean Agency indicated that these types of meetings serve to agree on trade issues on different products, taking into account that the two countries sometimes have a same offer.
“We hope not long to hold a meeting of what are called national cabinets where we will analyze all aspects of the bilateral relationship because we have old and traditional situations such as exchanges in the commercial sectors and we have new things. (…) We hope to have it by the end of the year and we will see how we progress”he indicated.
In that sense, he pointed out that both countries have capabilities in the lithium issue, which place them as producers of strategic minerals, and it is necessary to see how a value chain is developed and the presentation to the international community.
“It goes through everything, through high-level technological cooperation, satellite issues, food and the relationship between populations that is important”he added.
At another point, he highlighted the relationship between Peru and Argentina, where an important point in history is the Peruvian support during the Falklands War.
In this regard, he added that it was important and fundamental that Peru has renewed its position regarding the sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands, a support that comes from different governments.
“We are convinced that Argentina is committed to finding a peaceful and negotiated solution and we have been reiterating this issue to the United Kingdom”sentenced.
