Satellite scenes made from the data produced by the Argentine Saocom satellites will be marketed in India, Africa and Asian markets based on an agreement signed by the Minister of Science, Daniel Filmus, with the Indian company Suhora during his visit to that country .
Filmus signed the agreement in representation of the Argentine company VENGwhich sells the products made from the iinformation provided by earth observation satellites operated by the National Commission for Space Activities (conae).
VENG reported through a statement that the signing took place this Monday at the residence of the Argentine ambassador to India, Hugo Javier Gobbi, and was attended by the co-founders of Suhora, Amit Kumar, Rupesh Kumar and Krishanu Acharya. ; The director general of the Indian Space Association (ISPA), Anil Kumar Bhatt, was also present.
“It is a great satisfaction that, from this agreement, Saocom technology reaches more and more markets. Exporting the radar technology of our own satellites means more foreign currency and more work for Argentina”, said Minister Filmus.
“Suhora has always believed in giving the best of its technology to its customers. We believe that the images in Band L of the Saocom provided by VENG They will help Suhora generate important information in various fields, such as infrastructure, natural disaster monitoring, and agriculture. We see it as a win-win situation, both for our customers in India and for the Argentine space sector,” he said. Amit Kumar, COO and co-founder of Suhora.
The Saocom 1A and 1B satelliteswhose acronym means “Argentine Microwave Observation Satellites”, from the National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE), were llaunched into space from the United States in the years 2018 and 2020, respectively, and traveled aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from the Space X company that injected them into orbit.
Both satellites have a SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) antenna that receives information in Band L.
This radar technology allows information to be detected in any weather and hourly condition (day and night) and specifically the L Band, unlike other types of bands, manages to penetrate the vegetation and the soil surface, being able to generate moisture maps of vital importance for the agriculture.
At the moment, Argentina is the only country in America that markets satellite scenes in Bandto L through a own satellite.
“This agreement empowers both companies. Suhora is going to work as a huge catalyst for Saocom to find new clients and needs to satisfy in the regions in which they explore and are specialists. Otherwise it would be very difficult for us to reach those markets,” he said Adrián Unger, Assistant Manager of Solutions based on Satellite Information at VENG.

Other Veng Covenants
VENG signed in December 2020 a agreement with the Italian company e-GEOS, owned by the Italian Space Agency (20%) and the company Telespazio (80%); Based on this agreement, E-GEOS strengthened its offer of satellite products throughout the world, given that it previously marketed the products generated by the four Italian Cosmo-SkyMed satellites whose radar technology is in X Band.
Thus, from the signing of this agreement, you can combine both technologies to respond to the needs of your customers. These satellites together with the two Saocom satellites make up the Italian-Argentine Satellite System for Emergency Management (SIASGE), created by CONAE and the Italian Space Agency (ASI).
On the other hand, during the second half of 2021, VENG signed agreements with Restec companies (Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan), from Japan; MDA, from Canada; and Bsed (Beijing Smart Earth Digital), from China. Finally, in March 2022, and within the framework of the Satellite international fair, in Washington DC, VENG signed an agreement with the company URSA Space Systems, from the United States.
VENG is a company of services and technological developments of high added value, specializing in space activity; With more than 24 years of experience, he participates in strategic projects of the Argentine National Space Plan, such as the development of launch vehicle prototypes for access to space and the integration and testing of satellite components, among which stand out the radar antennas of the Saocom satellites.
