King Charles III withdrew from his son Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, now living in the United States, the use of Frogmore Cottage, their residence in the United Kingdom, after the publication of the prince’s controversial book, The Sun revealed on Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, Buckingham Palace sent “an expulsion notice” to the couple, who left the UK in 2020 and have since has multiplied attacks against the royal family.
Frogmore Cottage, a residence of five rooms located near Windsor Castlewest of London, was granted as a residence to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by Queen Elizabeth II in 2018 as wedding present.
The expensive works of renewal that the couple did, for more than $2.4 millionfinanced with public money, caused a scandal and Prince Henry had to return the sum.
According to The Sun, Carlos III has not proposed a new residence to the Dukes of Sussex, so they will not have royal residence during their few visits to the United Kingdom.
This decision appears to be in retaliation for the publication earlier this year of the memoir “In the Shadows”, in which the youngest son of the British monarch settles scores with his family.
The Sun newspaper also reported that the king would have asked Prince Andrew to move to Frogmore Cottagewith the idea of reducing the expenses of his younger brother, who currently resides in a luxurious property in Windsor.
Buckingham Palace, contacted by AFP, declined to comment on this information.
