Energía Argentina (Enarsa) signed the ninth addendum to the natural gas purchase and sale contract with YPFB to cover demand in the North of that country for the months of August and September of this year.

“This supply will allow supply the northern/central area of ​​the country with up to 4 million cubic meters per day (MMm3/d) depending on the requirement of internal demand, while the reversal project of the Northern Gasduct is completed,” says an official report from that company.

In the present, YPFB sends an average of 4.9 million cubic meters per day (MMm3/d) of natural gas to supply the North of Argentina, according to data from the Supervision, Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) of the state oil company.

The provision was agreed until July 31 as part of the eighth addendum to the contract, but has now been extended for another two months. According to Enarsa, the North Gasduct reversal project will begin operations on September 15.

It adds that it is planned to transport 5 MMm3/d of natural gas in addition to the current ones and in a second stage another 4 MMm3/d will be incorporated from Vaca Muerta.

The works of the reversal of the Northern Gasduct progresses gradually and recently the welding of pipes was completed in 100 kilometers of a total of 122 kilometers that extends from Tío Pujio to La Carlota, in the province of Córdoba.

The remaining 22 kilometers and the change of direction of 4 compression plants are expected to be completed at the end of August.
