"Argentina is the leader in the region in the number of tourists it receives": Matías Lammens

Matthias Lammensparticipated this Thursday in the second day of the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCESDE), which takes place in Santiago del Estero, an event that brings together experts from around the world to talk about the challenges of sustainable urban transformation.

The president also highlighted that Argentina was the host of this important event, “Having an expo of these characteristics is a huge growth opportunity for Argentina”.

The minister spoke of the measures taken by the country to reactivate tourism.

In this context, he stressed that “meeting tourism has a huge impact on the local economy, due to the number of visitors it receives and the movement it generates.”

Likewise, the minister assured that “Santiago del Estero is a success story in the development of tourism in Argentina”, for which he congratulated the local governor, Gerardo Zamora, for his commitment to bring and develop an international event such as the Expo Smart City .

The event had more than 70 invited experts.

The politician also emphasized that after the pandemic, “Argentina is the country that recovered the fastest” in the region and that this year all tourist destinations “had a sustained level of occupancy.”

During his presentation, the minister He also highlighted the success of the Pre-Trip program and how it allowed to boost both tourism and regional economies at the national level.

In the third edition of PreViaje it will be possible to travel between October and December.

“PreViaje had an incredible, absolute success that surprised us all. About 6 million Argentines who have already used it”. He also highlighted that for the third edition of the program it is expected that one million citizens will travel to all destinations in the country.
