Orayzábal, present at the Assembly of States Parties of the Rome Statute held in The Hague, denounced that conditions in Venezuela deteriorated even further after the July 28 elections, since in his opinion, the country cannot be considered as a State of Law, since human and civil rights ” “They are systematically violated and the democratic will of their population is deliberately ignored.”
He also highlighted that arbitrary detentions, inhuman treatment and violations of fundamental rights are evident, which is why he pointed out that “rigorous” and “comprehensive” investigations are needed that can await international justice.
