The Argentine Foreign Ministry condemned “in the strongest terms” the attack that occurred in a synagogue in Jerusalem, as a result of which at least seven people died and others were injured.
A communiqué released tonight by the Foreign Ministry states that “Argentina reiterates its firm condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”
“Argentina expresses its deep concern over the escalation of violence in recent days in the Middle East and calls on the parties to avoid a higher level of confrontation”held the text.
In addition, he expressed that “at this delicate juncture, everything possible must be done to de-escalate the violence and favor dialogue between Palestinians and Israelis.”

“Argentina is convinced that the only way is to achieve a definitive peace in the Middle East, which enshrines the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent State and the right of Israel to live in peace with its neighbors. within secure and internationally recognized borders,” the document concluded.
Similarly, in another statement the Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack on the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran, the capital of Iranand expressed his condolences to the Azerbaijani people and Government on the death of the head of security of the aforementioned diplomatic representation.
“The Argentine Republic expresses its sympathy with the relatives of the victim and raises its wishes for a speedy recovery of those injured in the attack”he pointed.

The event occurred when a man armed with a Kalashnikov rifle killed the head of the guard of the diplomatic mission, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Two other embassy guards were injured but their condition is “satisfactory”, according to the same source, the AFP news agency reported.
According to the Iranian capital’s police chief, General Hosein Rahimi, the assailant was arrested.
