As reported by the Argentine Foreign Ministry, the document signed this Tuesday constitutes the necessary framework for the state companies Compañía Paraguaya de Comunicaciones (COPACO) and ARSAT, from Argentina, to sign a connectivity contract and specify the interconnection of the fiber optic networks of both countries.

The interconnection will begin at the node that integrates the cities of Clorinda (Argentina) and Puerto Falcón (Paraguay), a step that would take place within 60 days.

Subsequently, it will continue with the node located in Posadas (Argentina) that would connect with Encarnación (Paraguay), on a date to be defined once progress is made with the necessary complementary works.

As highlighted on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, this interconnection will improve the quality of connectivity and will reduce the prices of communication services with a view to reducing the digital divide in Paraguay.
