The President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, announced the news that the country and his own Government had been waiting for a long time: a new agreement with the IMF (International Monetary Fund).
In this sense, Argentina and the IMF reached the end of the negotiations and, according to the president, the new conditions agreed with the multilateral credit organization they will not harm the growth and economic recovery of the country.
“The Government of Argentina has reached an agreement with the IMF. We had a problem and now we have a solution. We had a noose around our necks and now we have a path that we can travel”Fernandez reported.
He also assured that “without an agreement, we did not have a future horizon”, so now “we can order the present”. “Compared to others that Argentina signed with the bottomthis agreement does not contemplate restrictions that postpone our development”, he ratified.
Without naming him, Alberto Fernández did not forget Mauricio Macri
During his recorded message, the president stated that the agreement with the IMF “It does not restrict, it does not limit, it does not condition the rights of our retirees, it does not force us to a labor reform.” In other words, he compared the negotiations that took place in previous administrations, such as that of former president Mauricio Macri.
“Promotes investment in public works. It does not impose us to reach a zero deficit. It does not impact public services. It does not relegate our social spending and respects our investment in science and technology”, he asserted.
On the other hand, he recalled that the country “will be able to access new financing through this agreement” and, due to this political decision, there will be no “devaluation jumps”.
This agreement does not condition us. It is based on the world’s confidence in our abilities. We have to grow to be able to pay, otherwise it will not be possible.
“We have an unpayable debt that left us without a future. I have faith in Argentina. I know we are capable of getting up and moving forward. We must grow and we must honor our obligations. I will take it to the National Congress for its consideration and we need your support. History will judge who did what, who created the problem, and who brought solutions.. There was a very serious and urgent problem and now we have a solution”, he concluded.
