Santo Domingo . – The General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC) reported Thursday that the deprived of liberty Argenis Contreras González, received the medical discharge after staying several days held at the Juan Pablo Pina hospital in the San Cristóbal province.
In a statement issued by the agency’s press department, it was reported that the inmate, who was admitted to room 218 of the aforementioned hospital, evolves satisfactorily.
On her side, the person in charge of the Department of Physical Health of the DGSPC, Dr. Gauris Manuel Sisa Tejada, explained that Contreras was admitted for self -collithic attempt (suicide).
The health professional added that the other follow -ups will be given in the penitentiary enclosure, and that in the event that it merits admission, the life and integrity of the inmate will be preserved.
Colonel Roberto Hernández Basilio, general director of the agency, who governs the penitentiary system, explained that the transfer of Argenis Contreras to the Najayo Men’s correction and rehabilitation center was carried out attached to what is established by the Penitentiary Management Protocol.
He also said that, as a precautionary measure, and in coordination with the director of the CCR-XVII, VirLenis Aquino, the deprived of liberty was relocated to cell R-2, which has two beds and will have as a roommate to the PPL of the owl case, Jacel Eliazar Mejía Pereira, for the purpose of safeguarding his physical integrity and preventing him from threatening himself.
Argenis Contreras, serves a sentence ratified by a 20 -year -old competent court for the death of the university professor Yuniol Ramírez, occurred in 2017.
