Arequipa will have a renewable energy industrial park

The Arequipa region will have a renewable energy industrial park, for which an area of ​​16 thousand hectares has been set aside. This construction seeks to lead the change in the energy matrix in the country and would be carried out with private investment to promote the generation of clean energy.

This is how he made it known the governor of Arequipa, Rohel Sánchezat the launch of PERUMIN 37 in Lima, on Mining Thursday of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP).

“Complementary to this, in Arequipa we have been implementing the largest green hydrogen plant in South America with an investment of US$ 2.5 billion. Which will also allow us to provide green hydrogen and all this renewable energy to the mining industry.”he pointed out.

Another of the projects that Arequipa has in progress is the first Metallurgical Mining Park of 400 hectares in the Chapara district, in Caravelí. “It will also allow us to address the issue of modernization and solve the problems surrounding gold extraction that occurs under illegal or informal modalities.”, he noted.

The Corío port is also on the agenda. “In the last fifth regional Council of State, it was approved that an international invitation be made to private investors to join the Mega port of Las Americas, which is unique in the Pacific, and thus boost the economy.”, he noted.

It should be noted that the event included the participation of Jimena Sologuren, president of PERUMIN 37; Darío Zegarra, president of the IIMP; Rómulo Mucho, Minister of Energy and Mines; and Sabine Bloch, ambassador of Germany – PERUMIN 37 Allied Country.
