The investigation that began as a desperate race against time to save the life of worker Jimmy Flores Condori, ended up revealing that everything was a deception concocted by himself to obtain the sum of 15 thousand soles; The case was discovered by Police detectives in the city of Camaná, in Arequipa.
On the morning of January 21, Wilbert Flores Condori went to the Kidnapping unit from the Divincri of Arequipa to report that he had received messages and photographs from his brother’s own number. In the images, Jimmy appeared gagged, half-naked, tied to a chair and with reddish spots that simulated blood on his chest.
The chilling photo was accompanied by a threatening message. “We already know that you are the brother of this snitch; right now all of us Venezuelans are getting together to enjoy how he is dying with pain. We ask for 15 thousand soles and your little brother comes out alive”said the message sent by WhatsApp from Jimmy’s same cell phone number.

After the complaint, the police informed the prosecutor on duty of the city of Camanawhere the alleged kidnapping. Among the investigation procedures that were carried out at the time, because the ‘kidnappers’ gave little time to make the payment, requested the geolocation of the cell phone of the alleged victim to try to locate it.

When intervened, Jimmy insisted on his version. He claimed to have been intercepted, beaten and photographed by unknown persons, he even handed over sketches of rooms and routes where, according to him, he had been transferred. However, the Police investigations destroyed his alibisince neither in the hotel, nor in the indicated places, nor in the supposed points where he threw his clothes was any evidence found.
Finally, cornered by contradictions and facing his brother and his lawyer, Jimmy Flores confessed that he was never kidnapped and, on the recommendation of his lawyer, he decided to remain silent.
