The Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations, Sandra Gutiérrez Cuba, arrived in the city of Arequipa to coordinate with the senior prosecutor María del Rosario Lozada and PNP General Olger Benavides, head of the Arequipa Police Region, in the case of the 4-year-old girl who was attacked by the stepfather in the district of Quequeña.
“It is such a sensitive case, we are doing articulated work. Rest assured that this case will not go unpunished. From the Ministry of Women we are taking action,” He pointed out as he left the headquarters of the Public Ministry, located on the fourth block of La Merced Street, Cercado de Arequipa.
Nevertheless, María del Rosario Lozada, senior prosecutor and coordinator of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Offices in cases of Violence Against Women and Members of the Family Group of Arequipareported that the little girl is in a shelter (Santa Isabel) and the mother is in a shelter center, protected.
The National Police informed the Public Ministry on October 16 of the arrest of John Carlos Rodríguez Roca (25) at the Yarabamba police station for being suspected of causing physical injuries to a child under 4 years of age. Prosecutor Karin Rosas and her team carried out the legal proceedings.
PREVENTIVE PRISON
However, the judge reported that have not requested preventive detention for the investigated, considering that the sentence prognosis is 2 to 3 years and does not exceed the 5 years established by the criminal procedure code.
“We have requested the appearance with restrictions and protection measures for the girl and the mother. The accused must comply with a series of rules of conduct. The video that circulates on the networks must be authenticated if it is true or not because the lawyers oppose it. It was sent to the High Technology Division (PNP)”he stated.

The magistrate considers that the minor faces severe riskafter allegedly being attacked on October 16 with a cell phone charger cable, in the district of Quequeña.
The magistrate prohibited John from exercising any new act of physical or psychological violence against the minor and her parent, as well asbe close to less than 100 meters from both victims.
Also, it was established that both the mother and the stepfather participate in the program. “School for Parents”in order to strengthen her abilities to raise and educate her stepdaughter without violence.
