More than 500 artisanal miners from the Secocha town center blocked both lanes of the Panamericana Sur this morning, at kilometer 782, on the Ocoña bridge, Camaná province.
According to the police report, the blockade started at 11 in the morning and as agreed by the miners, it will be until 3 in the afternoon. Then, there will be a vehicle pass for one hour, until they will return to restrict the road for more than four hours.
They warn that the blockade of both lanes will continue even longer and there will be no respite until they resolve the request.
Among the requests are; be cared for as artisanal miners, with equal rights and opportunities; Reinfo expansion; and end the “persecution of fellow miners.”
