The Procurement and Transplant Management activated operation No. 44 in a Ministry of Health hospital. A team of specialized surgeons from the National Cardiovascular Institute (Incor) and the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen National Hospital traveled to Arequipa to perform the surgical procedure to remove the heart and liver.

The kidneys and left cornea were assigned to three patients from the Carlos Alberto Seguín Escobedo National Hospital, of the Arequipa Healthcare Network.

“So far in 2024, 333 transplants have been performed nationwide in 44 operations. These actions remind us of the importance of becoming agents of change through organ donation. Therefore, I call on everyone to put a ‘YES’ on their ID and, in this way, save lives”, highlighted the head of EsSalud.

You can obtain information about organ donation, you can call the “Donor Line” by dialing 117, option 8.
