On Friday, April 21, through its Twitter account, the Archdiocese of Caracas denounced that a man is posing as a priest in the capital and performing baptisms and weddings at Club Campestre Los Cortijos. The religious chancellery urged the parish priests to send a letter to the representatives of these places to inform the respective communities
The Archdiocese of Caracas denounced that a man, identified as Héctor Márquez, is posing as a priest in the capital without having “any accreditation or order” from the Catholic Church, and performs baptisms and weddings in the Country Club Los Cortijoslocated in the Sucre municipality.
“Through a statement, the chancellery of this Archdiocese denounces this fact and also recalls that, by express order of our archbishop, Cardinal Baltazar Porras, the celebration of any sacrament in clubs and party houses is prohibited,” indicates the statement issued by the institution this Friday, April 21; signed by Father Antonio Abeijón, chancellor of the archdiocese.
