During the mass for Saint Rose of Lima, he asked those present to earn their money honestly and share it with those who suffer the most.
“Either God or money. That is very important for us right now in the country because the crazy illusions are due to ambition and mafia money. We have to overcome that, we have to always earn our money honestly and, from there, serve with that money those who suffer the most because everything we have is a gift from God that must be shared,” he said.
He then highlighted the work of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) during the pandemic and noted that it is necessary to strengthen its spirit of service.
On July 28, during the Solemn Mass and Te Deum, the Archbishop of Lima spoke about the credibility of politicians in the middle of his homily. “Those who use and corrode the State, giving priority to their interests, live in institutional disloyalty,” he said, and then added that “indifference, insensitivity, and frivolity are still spiritual problems that we all live with, even some believers.”
