The president of the State, Luis Arce, promised a fight in the streets against the opponents to question the government. The message refers directly to the next national council that the civic committees are preparing and the protest mobilizations that the platforms that met this Saturday announced.
“There is not a single look as some try to impose, what is exists is a people now mobilizedwe are not going to repeat the mistakes of 2019 as they wanted, we are going to keep guarding and taking care of the streets, where we have come from where we have formed and We are going to continue winning in the streets”harangued the Head of State in the enlargement of the militant teachers of the MAS.
The national council is scheduled for January 25 in the nine capital cities of the country and the civic groups are advancing in their preparation. In parallel, this Saturday the platforms held their national congress and defined that they will not give the government a truce in the streets.
“We will not give up in the fight against the dictatorial government, Not in the streets, not at the polls.”, indicates a part of the communiqué of the 21F platforms, who convened this weekend to articulate this week’s mobilizations.
These organizations declared themselves in a “state of readiness”, guaranteed their presence in the councils that are organized in the country and warned that do not rule out a national march to La Paz to demand the release of political prisoners.
For the president, the opponents are trying to destabilize his management since he began his term together with the vice president, David Choquehuanca. He recalled that there were conflicts in November 2021 and a year later they returned to the charge under the pretext of the census. Now they come with the arrest of Luis Fernando Camacho as an excuse. The laws that were approved in governments before the MAS are being applied, justifies Arce.
On January 10, when citizens called for a national march against judicial manipulation, police abuse and political persecution, MAS organized its public officials in La Paz and they attacked the citizens who had gathered in the southern area. Strangely, La Paz was the only place where there were MAS counter-marches. Demonstrations in favor of the government party in other regions lacked sufficient support.
