The Head of State, Luis Arce, indicated that the lack of exploration It is the root cause of fuel shortages, which in turn causes less dollars to enter the country.
Arce pointed out that the lack of discoveries of new gas wells has caused the production of natural gas to drop from 21.76 billion cubic meters per day (MMmcd) in 2014 to a supply of 13.122 MMmcd in 2023.
Regarding the production of condensates, from which gasoline and diesel come, Arce noted thatand current production is 8.6 million barrels per year, when in 2014, the supply was 18.6 million barrels per year.
Given this context, the head of State maintained that the nationalization of hydrocarbons was not taken care of, since “no exploration work was done, which led to lower production and less dollar income to the country’s economy”
