President Luis Arce summoned the mayors of the capital cities to a meeting for this Tuesday in order to discuss Law 1407, an appointment in which the mayor of La Paz, Iván Arias, will raise a trust to attend to debts inherited from the past management.

The appointment is set for Tuesday, November 30 at 3:00 p.m., the municipal authority reported.

“We have raised an agenda that is an analysis of Law 1407 and the approach of seeing how the municipalities achieve access to more resources, we all lack resources, and see how we can coordinate in a complementary way between the national government and the municipalities to make investments that benefit the population, ”Arias said at a public event in the Hampaturi macro-district, where he delivered a paving stone.

On Thursday 25, the Minister of the Presidency, María Nela Prada, sent a reply letter to the president of the Association of Bolivian Municipalities (AMB), Jhonny Torres, in which she set the time for the appointment.

“In response to your note, received on November 24 of this management, I inform you that the meeting of mayors and mayors of the AMB with the constitutional president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce, will be held on Tuesday 30 November at 3:00 pm, at the Casa Grande del Pueblo, to discuss the issues indicated in the request for a hearing, “the note states, quoted by AMN.

Law 1407 of the Economic and Social Development Plan 2021-2025 is questioned by this block of mayors, but has received the support of the Federation of Municipal Associations of Bolivia (FAM), the majority of which is made up of MAS mayors.

“We will let the government know that we make complementary investments, that we do not step on ourselves, that is, that the national government does not stop coordinating with the municipalities; Sometimes we see works without coordinating with the Government, suddenly we already see a paving stone, we see that works are already appearing and we do not find out, on the other hand, if we coordinated it would be better, ”said Mayor Arias.

Arias commented that the La Paz Municipality is urged to pay debts to companies that date back many years.
