The President of the State, Luis Arce, highlighted this Saturday the economic and social achievements of his government and highlighted the economic growth of 6%, poverty reduction and the record of the lowest inflation rate in South America in 2021.
However, he admitted employment problems despite the fact that the unemployment rate fell to 5.2%. In this context, he announced a plan for this management, although he did not detail its scope.
“Soon we will launch measures aimed at solving this problem,” said the president on the occasion of the celebration of the 13th anniversary of the creation of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
In his message to the country for the date, the president remarked that the country has recovered the path of economic stability.

“We registered an economic growth of 8.9% in the third quarter, reversing the recession of -12.6% that was in the third quarter of 2020, a drop never seen in 7 decades,” he specified.

In this way, he said that, in less than two years, Bolivia is once again on the path of economic development.
“One of the aspects that we must highlight is the dynamization of internal demand, which has an incidence of 8.2% on growth and an economic growth of 6% is expected at the end of 2021,” he remarked.

Another achievement weighted by Arce was price stability with the registration of only 0.9% inflation in 2021, the lowest rate in the region.
“We are the economy with the third highest growth and with the lowest rate of inflation in the region”, he pointed out.

Likewise, he highlighted the social achievements that, he assures, were consolidated in his administration, among them the reduction of moderate poverty to 36.3% and extreme poverty to 11%.
“In 2021, poverty inherited from the de facto government was reduced even below the figures we recorded in 2019 and covering the increase in the rate in 2020. These are poverty reduction indicators never before seen in the country,” said Arce.
